Farmers State Bank of Hoffman will be opting out of the Transaction Account Guarantee program effective January 1, 2010.  After December 31, 2009 funds held in noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will no longer be guaranteed in full under the Transaction Account Guarantee.  They will be insured up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account", which includes IOLTAs, are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012.  This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
